Summer & The Giantess is more than a meaningless political slogan on that wall next to your doorstep, neither another act with a moralising undertone, instead they are the entire organ! This band screams with great intensity and a strong voice where others prefer to whisper and they punch a hole into that damn brick wall, where others prefer to softly knock with a gentle portion of restraint. The sonic expressions of the trio from Hamburg (Germany) arise from dense distorted walls of sound, quickly alternating rhythms and the participation in the discourses of society, by lyrically adressing the crucial social-policy issues of our time. Despite a strikingly sharp glare on society (and its abundant variety of flaws), yet The GIANTESS provides us musically with plenty of enthusiastic-utopian moments. In her own cosmos there are not only postmarks and dispatches, but also involuntary tattoo stings, which etch themselves into our collective nervous system, namely human society. If a petite being should ever truly toy with the notion of standing in The GIANTESS‘ way , the result will be a rising emotional high tide, that will flood his or her veins and flush those insides into the great beyond. From there on, nothing will ever be like it was before.

Dealing with the rise of right-wing movements, but also the media's role in this whole mess—and the question what we can do about it—the trio from Hamburg blends feminine vocal elegance with ecstatic riffs and dynamic drumming driven by raw energy.
The musical result: artfully distorted, melodically vibrant, and densely textured from start to finish. It's rare to encounter songwriting this original, and this is only the beginning of what will hopefully be a long career for Summer & The GIANTESS."

"Als Roter Faden für die Platte lässt sich die (politische) Wut auf Missstände, die unsere Gesellschaft druchtriefen, ausmachen. Diese Wut ist allerdings nicht so stumpf, wie man es sonst oft von Parolen in Songs kennt. Das Trio behandelt mit seinem Album furios aktuelle Themen und erkennt auch die Komplexität dieser an. So wird zum Beispiel auch die Rolle der Medien für das Klima unserer Gesellschaft auf dem Album hinterfragt. Die politische Relevanz des Albums ist unverkennbar. Die Empörung staut sich während des gesamten Longplayers auf und entlädt sich schlussendlich auf dem vorletzten track „Wutburger“. Die Platte fängt den Zeitgeist künstlerisch wertvoll ein."

"Abgesehen von dem großen kompositorischen Geschick und der dargebotenen Vielfalt, ist es sehr erfrischend endlich mal wieder etwas fernab dem zu hören, was eben alle machen. Das Trio wird für den Mut belohnt, denn in “Goliath” spürt man richtige Clubatmosphäre. Die Band stoppt den Song ab, dreht das Tempo, lässt den Bass bedrohlich aus der Dunkelheit auf uns zu wanken und erschafft dadurch einen ganz besonderen Moment. Das weicht tatsächlich stark von dem ab, was man sonst so auf die Ohren bekommt."
